I graduated from Edinburgh University with a Law degree in 1999 before moving into TV journalism and video production. I am a British/French dual national, bilingual in both languages and fluent in Spanish.
I learnt my skills working in Paris for Associated Press Television News (APTN) as a field producer, cameraman and project manager in two different departments: News and Broadcast Services (crewing facilities, lives and special events).
During that time I covered major news stories in France and abroad including French elections, violent suburban and student riots, terrorist attacks and an earthquake in North Africa. As a television services organiser, I arranged client coverage of international conferences in Europe and set up a client studio facility for APTN in Paris.
I was then invited to join the launch of France 24, France’s new 24-hour global news channel, where I worked as a bilingual journalist editing, scripting and voicing news packages in English and French.
In 2007, I relocated from Paris to Singapore, where I set up Somerville Media.
From 2009 to early 2011, I managed the Asia region for VCSS, Reuters Global Broadcast Services Partner. This involved coordinating satellite facilities for breaking news stories and live events as well as handling bookings for camera crews from clients seeking to work in Asia and Asian clients requiring freelance cameramen and video services elsewhere in the world.
I was also tasked with building client relationships with Reuters clients and being in charge of business development in Asia.
I left VCSS in March 2011 to focus on running Somerville Media and providing the best possible freelance cameraman and camera crew services in Singapore and the region for my clients.
